We've just given you our first impressions of the redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry. Now, Toyota is ready to give you pricing, and it's good news if you're in the market for this mid-size mainstay. Pricing stays the same for some of the 2012 trims, while it's actually gone down for a few others. The 2012 Camry family hierarchy shakes out with the base-model L before moving up to the LE, XLE and SE trims. The Camry Hybrid is only available in LE or XLE guise.

Pricing for the 2012 Camry L starts at $21,995. If you want to move up to the LE, you only need $545 more for a total of $22,500, which is about $200 less than the 2011 LE. Another $500 brings you to the four-cylinder-equipped Camry SE, which costs $23,000 and is priced $965 lower than the 2011 model it replaces. The V6 SE will cost $26,400, which is consistent with 2011 pricing. In the market for the top-shelf XLE? Have at least $24,725 ready for the four-cylinder model, and $29,845 if you prefer the V6. The 2012 Camry XLE four-cylinder is priced a full $2,000 less than the 2011 model, while the XLE V6 remains priced the same as the 2011.

If you're leaning towards the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid, you'll be saving $1,150 over the 2011 Camry LE. The 2012 Camry Hybrid LE starts at $25,900, while the Camry Hybrid XLE starts at $27,400, an $800 deduction compared to the 2011 unit.
Toyota Announces Pricing for All-New 2012 Camry and Camry Hybrid

• 2012 Camry Has More Features and All Popular Models are Priced Lower or the Same as 2011s
• Class-Leading Driving Dynamics, Safety Features and MPG
• Camry Begins Arriving at Dealerships in October

TORRANCE, Calif., August 23, 2011 - - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. today announced manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the all-new, seventh-generation Camry, America's best-selling car for nine years running and 13 of the past 14 years. The Camry remains an excellent value as all popular models receive either a price decrease or remain flat in comparison to last generation Camry models. The 2012 Camry and Camry Hybrid debut a bold, sophisticated new design with a more spacious interior, class-leading safety features, improved driving dynamics and an even quieter ride than before.

"Despite all of the enhancements to the all-new Camry, prices for all popular models have been reduced with dramatic repositioning on SE, XLE and Hybrid models, representing the best value in the segment," says Bob Carter, Toyota Group Vice President and General Manager. "Competing in the industry's most competitive segment, we expect the Camry to continue as America's best-selling car."

The all-new Toyota Camry is powered by a revised 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), which features reduced noise and vibration levels and produces 178 horsepower, an increase of nine horsepower, and 170 lbs-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is also improved with EPA estimated mpg ratings of 25 city/35 hwy/28 combined. All four-cylinder models are matched with six-speed automatic transmissions.

For those looking for more power, a 24-valve, DOHC 3.5-liter V6, which employs Dual VVT-i is available in the SE and XLE models. The V6 generates 268 horsepower and 248 lbs.-ft. of torque and is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift and has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 21 city/30 hwy/25 combined.

All 2012 Camrys are equipped with a class-leading 10 standard airbags, and like all Toyota models, the Camry will feature Toyota's Star Safety System™ standard, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. Camry Hybrid Offers More Power and Class-Leading MPG
The Camry Hybrid model is also reinvented for 2012, utilizing a highly revised Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain that includes a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces a combined 200 horsepower and offers better MPG, all while featuring a significantly lower MSRP than its predecessor.

The Camry Hybrid LE not only delivers the best MPG of any mid-size sedan, achieving manufacturer-estimated 43 city/39 mpg hwy/41mpg combined, but it will also carry a MSRP of $25,900, an impressive decrease of $1,150 compared to the 2011 model. The premium Camry Hybrid XLE model features a MSRP of $27,400, a decrease of $800 compared to the previous model with upgrade package.

The new Camry models with four-cylinder and V6 engines will begin reaching Toyota dealers in October; Camry Hybrid models will arrive in November. The MSRPs for the 2012 Camry do not include the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee. The DPH for the Camry is $760. The DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.
The 2012 Toyota Camry is offered in four trimlines (L, LE, XLE, SE) while the 2012 Camry Hybrid is available in just the LE and XLE forms and throughout much of the lineup, 2012 Camry buyers will pay less than those who opted for the 2011 models.

2012 Toyota Camry L
The 2012 Toyota Camry L serves as the base model and unlike the majority of the 2012 Camry trimlines, this base model sees an increase in MSRP compared to the 2011 models. The current Camry base with a 4-cylinder engine and automatic transmission starts at $21,245 while the 2012 Camry L carries a price of $21,955 – an increase of $710. However, for that additional cost 2012 buyers get a wide variety of new features including projection headlights and all sorts of power accessories inside.

2012 Toyota Camry LE
The next step up is the 2012 Toyota Camry LE, which carries a price of $22,500 and with this model, 2012 buyers will begin to see savings over the 2011 models, as the current Camry LE starts $200 more at $22,700. In addition to costing less than the current LE models, the 2012 Camry LE will come with the impressive Display Audio system which includes a 6.1 inch touch screen and some other convenience items like remote keyless entry and automatic headlamps. Both this model and the 2012 Camry L are powered exclusively by Toyota’s 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, sending out 178 horsepower and 170lb-ft of torque while achieving 25 miles per gallon around town and 35 on the open road.

The LE level is where the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid comes into play, with this fuel sipping sedan offering a starting price of $25,900 - $1,150 cheaper than the 2011 Camry Hybrid. The 2012 models will feature a new 2.5L 4-cylinder engine mated to Toyota’s hybrid drive system to offer 200 horsepower while also achieving 43mpg around town and 39mpg on the open road.

2012 Toyota Camry SE
Next, we have the 2012 Toyota Camry SE with a price tag of only $23,000 (with the 4-cylinder engine) – the model that Toyota claims is the “Camry with attitude”. This is achieved by adding a uniquely aggressive front fascia, 17” aluminum wheels, sport tuned suspension and steering, chrome exhaust tips, leather wrapped interior items including a steering wheel with paddle shifters and sport seats – all for just $500 more than the 2012 Camry LE. Compared to the 2011 Camry, the 2012 SE costs $965 less when equipped with the 2.5L 4-cylinder even though it comes with more amenities. If you want the 3.5L V6 engine that offers 268hp and 248lb-ft of torque, the 2012 Camry SE will start at $26,640 – the same price as the 2011 Camry SE V6 – although the V6 engine comes with unique 18” alloy wheels and the ne Entune audio system.

2012 Toyota Camry XLE
The top of the line for the traditionally powered (non-hybrid) 2012 Toyota Camry models is the XLE, which starts at $24,725 when powered by the 2.5L 4-cylinder mill. This is an impressive $2,000 decrease compared to the lesser-equipped 2011 Camry XLE models and even though it costs less, the 2012 model includes goodies like the Display Audio system with Entune and Navigation, as well as leather appointments throughout the interior. The 268hp 2012 Toyota Camry XLE V6 starts at $29,845 –the same as the 2011 models even though it includes the new features inside and out.

The 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE packs the same luxury features as the non-hybrid models but it adds the 200hp hybrid drivetrain that offers a combined 41mpg – and it costs $800 less than the 2011 Camry Hybrid models equipped with the upgrade package (Hybrid XLE was not offered in 2011).

The Toyota Camry has been the bestselling car in America 13 of the last 14 years and with new features, a new look and new, lower prices – Toyota has seemingly turned up the heat on the American automakers with the 2012 Camry lineup.
