2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe has been launched by Cadillac Manufature , the last and most dramatic series of brand new models to reach production. Arriving in dealerships in August 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe is a new luxury sports coupe designed in the middle of the line-up for the review of the brand.

Don Butler, Vice President – Cadillac Marketing said “CTS Coupe is the new focal point of Cadillac, expressing both our design and technical capabilities,”  and “It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts.”

 

The CTS Coupe emerged as a proposal inside Cadillac’s dedicated design studio, where designers develop and evolve the brand’s Art and Science design philosophy. It is powered by a 3.6L direct injected V-6 rated at 304 horsepower (227 kW). The high-performance CTS-V Coupe receives the same, 556-horsepower (415 kW) 6.2L supercharged V-8 found in the landmark CTS-V Sport Sedan.

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe supercharged V8 that makes 556 horsepower. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. It’s under $65,000. Not only that, but the larger cojones found on the V sedan are translated into the coupe’s styling, making for a car that’s at once audacious and vicious, with a beating heart of total lunacy.

Overall exterior Cadillac CTS-V dimensions are exactly the same as the base coupe, but the V-specific styling cues, namely the bulgier hood, sharper front grille, larger fog-light surrounds and the exposed dual pipes of the exhaust, define the strong character lines and overall shape.

Parece covardia, né? Mas veja o vídeo abaixo e confira que apesar do tamanho todo o Cadillac Escalade mostra que não esta para brincadeira. O SUV tem dois turbos e 1.000 cv de potência e vai de 0 a 100 km/h em 3,3 segundos. Já o GT-R tem “apenas” 485 cavalos e vai de 0 a 100 km/h em 3,4 segundos.

Cadillac History:
Founded in 1902 as Cadillac Automobile Company was purchased by General Motors and thirty years later had become a symbol of the high standard of luxury. Cadillac became a pioneer in automotive technology as several cars completely closed, and the automatic start replacing the old cranks and uncomfortable. During the First World War, the Cadillac aircraft engines had a technical, paying them 100% of its production capacity. In the year 1924 the Cadillac company offered a lot of color and chrome paintings, while other automakers offered only in black. In this decade, the automaker innovates once again by becoming the first company in the industry to use a designer, Harley Earl, in place of an engineer to design the bodywork of their Cadillac cars in 1927. The following year, GM has also incorporated two major companies producing car bodies for exclusive CADILLAC, Fisher and Fleetwood, which contributed greatly to the improvement of the line brand automobiles. In fact the methods of precision created by Leland, associated with pioneering the use of advanced technologies has created an image of quality and reliability around the brand Cadillac. Another factor that has contributed to increase the prestige of the brand was the fact that it has become the preferred artistic emerging class of Hollywood of the 20s onwards. The image of that era artists like Clara Bow, William Boyd, Joan Crowcroft, Dolores Del Rio and Marlene Dietrich, reaching in CADILLAC cars in the "Avant Premiere" of his films ended lending the brand a lot of "Glamour" the Hollywood of those years. Other classes also have embraced the brand's models were the heads of state, members of the nobility, magnates, artists and intellectuals from other areas renowned.

Já faz mais de 60 anos que os americanos falam do desempenho do Cadillac, mas Inside Line quis provar em números este desempenho.

A CTS-V correu um quarto de milha em 12,5 segundos, o melhor desempenho era 12,7 da BMW M5 e do Mercedes E63 AMG. Ninguém acreditava que um Cadillac poderia ter um desempenho melhor que os alemães, mas tiverem: o CTS-V correu o circuito em 71,1 mph, enquanto o M5 e E63 decorreu se em 68,5 e 65 mph, respectivamente.
