Ford is a well-known name in the auto industry.  Some would even say that there would be no auto industry if it weren’t for the innovations first pioneered by the Ford Motor Company.  These days they are known for providing reliable and stylish vehicles with a number of different options.  Ford is now updating one of its most popular vehicles with the new 2012 Ford Taurus.  The new 2012 Taurus is set to be released soon and is promising to bring plenty of improvements for this already dynamic vehicle.

At first look, the 2012 Ford Taurus seems somewhat similar to models of the past.  The overall design is relatively sleek while also being somewhat conservative when compared with the more outrageous cars on the market today.  The improvements Ford has made to its Taurus 2012 models starts with the grill.  In previous models the grill sported a multi-faceted design but the 2012 Taurus is doing away with that in favor of one large grill that is lined with chrome accents.  The hood flows out from the grill in a smooth and even manner, curling over the roof of the car and ending in the re-designed rear end with its integrated spoiler.  Both the head and tail lights have been redesigned with the head lights wrapping around the side.
We find further design improvements in the interior of the Ford Taurus 2012 model.  While past models offered plenty of space, Ford is telling us that there is even more room inside the cabin of the 2012 Taurus.  With plenty of leg and head room in both the front rear set of seats, even the tallest passenger can fit comfortably.  The steering wheel is covered in leather and has had a number of different buttons integrated into it which should help keep your hands on the wheel.  The dashboard of the Taurus 2012 model has been redone with blue accents which offer easy visibility, even at night.  The center console is spacious and the display screen is large enough to see without straining.  To top it all off, Ford has included a brand new sound system in the 2012 Taurus which promises to keep the noise of the outside world where it belongs.
With the 2012 Taurus, Ford is keeping in line with other companies who are paying special attention to fuel efficiency in an effort to cut down on its customer’s fuel costs.  Under the hood we find that Ford has managed to pack quite a bit of power in an exceedingly efficient engine.  All Ford Taurus 2012 models are being shipped with their new EcoBoost engine.  Certain models will be packed with a smaller version of the engine while others will have more power.  The 3.5 liter V6 engine has been upgraded with Ford’s  Ti-VCT and direct injection systems which significantly increase the 2012 Taurus’ fuel efficiency.  For those Ford fans who may be looking for a bit more power the EcoBoost engine available in the SHO edition offers all of the power of a V8 engine with the fuel consumption of a V6.  All of this means that there are plenty of options available to those who are concerned with both power and fuel costs.

It seems that it’s becoming increasingly harder to talk about new cars and not mention any of the technology that comes with them.  The 2012 Ford Taurus doesn’t skimp on advanced technology as it comes with Ford’s SYNC system with Ford MyTouch technology all integrated into the display screen.  This allows the 2012 Taurus to sync up with a number of different entertainment systems, including satellite radio, navigation, temperature and more.  While the screen itself is a touch screen, many of the commands have also been mapped to the steering wheel control buttons to make it safer and easier for the driver to change settings.  In addition to the steering wheel mounted controls, the SYNC system in the 2012 Taurus also runs off of voice commands and has a number of different auxiliary inputs.

While it may be safe to say that Ford hasn’t made any drastic changes with its 2012 Taurus, it’s easy to see that they have made quite a few improvements.  With its redesigned front grill and projection head lamps the Ford Taurus 2012 model looks just as great coming as it does going.  The interior of the 2012 Taurus offer plenty of room and a stylish look that is topped off with some pretty advanced technology in the SYNC system.  The engines available in the different packages are packing quite a lot of power while saving a lot of money on fuel costs.  One of the most notable things about the 2012 Taurus is the range of different upgrades and option packages that Ford is offering.  The 2012 Ford Taurus is the perfect option for anyone in the market for a stylish and comfortable ride that is packed with all of the best modern technology and an engine to match.
